Child safety

Maná has a wall where people post, comment and share photos. Where there is that, child sexual abuse material can arrive, and this page says what we do so that it does not, what happens when it does and who is notified.

It is prohibited, with no nuance

No child sexual exploitation or abuse content or conduct is allowed on Maná. That includes:

• Images or videos of child sexual abuse, real or generated.
• Sexualising a minor in any way, including in text.
• Seeking contact with a minor with sexual intent, asking them for images or grooming them for that purpose.
• Sharing links to that material or saying where to find it.

There is no prior warning and no second chance. The account is closed.

Maná is for people over 13

It is in our terms. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under that age, we delete it.

How to report, from inside the app

Any post, comment, story or prayer request can be reported from the app itself: tap the three-dot menu and choose report. You can also stop seeing a person, and then their posts and comments stop reaching you without that person receiving any notice.

And you can write directly to soporte@themanateam.app, which is the point of contact for any child safety matter. It is read and answered.

What we do with a report

• It is reviewed. Reports of this kind come before any other.
• The content is removed and the account is closed if it is confirmed.
• What is necessary is preserved so that it can be handed to the authorities, and only for that.
• Whoever it corresponds to is notified. Maná is operated from Mexico, so it is reported to the Fiscalía General de la República and, when the law requires it or the case calls for it, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the authorities of the country where it happens.

How the risk is reduced before it happens

• A church's wall is seen only by its people. The server decides it, not the screen: a church post does not leave that church and a group post does not leave that group.
• There are no private messages between people. What is written is written on a wall that someone else reads, and that removes the place where this harm usually happens.
• Stories delete themselves after 24 hours, and in the meantime they can be reported just the same.
• The artificial intelligence assistant does not generate images, and it does not answer about sexual content.
