Privacy

Maná keeps the minimum it needs to work, and some things never leave your phone. This explains which ones, exactly.

What we do not keep, and this is not a vague promise

• What you talk about with the assistant stays on your phone. The conversation is not stored on any server of ours. If you delete the app, it goes with it.
• The assistant never reads your prayers or your journal. That text never enters a request to the model, by design.
• Of your birthday we keep the day and the month, never the year. The year column does not exist in the database. To wish someone happy birthday you need to know when, not how old they are turning.
• There are no ads and we do not sell data to anyone. There are no third-party trackers inside the app.

What we do keep

• Your account. The email you sign in with, or the identifier Apple or Google gives us if you sign in with them.
• Your profile. Display name, photo, cover, a description if you write one, your church and your role in it, and the day and month of your birthday if you add it.
• What you post. Wall messages, comments, prayer requests and stories. Stories delete themselves after 24 hours.
• Your progress. Which chapters you have read, which days of the lesson you have studied and where you are in each devotional.
• Your notes. They are kept on your phone; the ones attached to a verse are also kept in your account, so they are still there when you change phone.
• This device, if you turn notifications on. An identifier for the phone and which notifications you want. It is deleted when you sign out and when you delete the account.

Who sees what you post

The server decides, not the screen. A church post is only seen by people in that church; a group post, only by that group. A prayer request marked as anonymous leaves the server without an author: the app never receives the name and could not show it even if it wanted to.

If you stop seeing someone, their posts and comments stop reaching you. That person is not notified, and you can undo it whenever you want.

Who we share data with in order to work

• Supabase: where the database and the images live.
• OpenRouter: where your question goes when you use the assistant, along with the passage you are reading. Without your name and without your email.
• Apple y Google: to deliver the notifications to your phone.
• HelloAO y Adventech: where the biblical text and the Sabbath School lesson are downloaded from.

We share nothing with anyone else, not with advertisers, not with social networks.

Deleting your account

From the app, in your profile, without writing to anyone. When you delete it we ask what you want to happen to what you shared:

• Delete everything: what others were reading goes too.
• Leave it unsigned: your prayer requests and your lesson comments stay, without who wrote them. Someone who asked for prayer for their mother and then leaves does not always want that request to disappear from the group that was praying it.

Either way, your account and your personal data disappear from the server, and your notes, your progress and the conversation with the assistant are erased from your phone.

Who answers for your data

Victor Abel Romero Serrano, an individual, in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. There is no company behind Maná: there is a person, and the way to reach them is soporte@themanateam.app.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. In Mexico these are called ARCO rights, and in Europe it is what the GDPR gives; the email is the same for both. Write to soporte@themanateam.app and we answer.

Minors

Maná is meant for people over 13. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.

If this changes

We will say so in the app before it takes effect, not only by changing this page. The date above says when it was last touched.
